DAVID RUBEL’S 251 JAM SESSION WITH SPECIAL GUEST TROMBONIST JOHN FEDCHOCK

Jazz Bistro is proud to present the “251 Jam”, a weekly jazz jam session hosted by saxophonist David Rubel. David’s quartet, which features Amanda Tosoff (piano), Dan Fortin (bass) and Ethan Ardelli (drums) opens the night with a set of music and then invite other musicians to join them. Audiences will hear a wide variety of fantastic local jazz musicians as well as some special out-of-town guests. There will be a unique menu with plates designed for sharing, as well as specials on pitchers of beer.
John Fedchock’s illustrious career in jazz has spanned over three decades. Since his emergence on the scene in 1980, Fedchock has established himself as a world-class trombone soloist, a heralded bandleader, and a Grammy-nominated arranger. An in-demand performer and writer in New York City, his multifaceted talents have led him to become one of NYC’s premier jazz artists.
Toronto-born Jazz saxophonist David Rubel is an alumnus of both the Humber College and University of Toronto Jazz programs. His rich sound and original brand of jazz has been featured in all of Toronto’s major jazz venues from The Rex Jazz & Blues Bar and the legendary Montreal Bistro, to The Old Mill and Jazz Bistro. His debut CD “Into the Dark” garnered positive reviews from the Toronto Star, Jazz FM 91.1 and various publications. David has toured throughout Europe, the United States and Canada, and performed with Grammy and Juno winners such as Maria Schneider, Kurt Elling, Donny McCaslin, Dave Liebman, Tim Ries, Phil Markowitz, Don Thompson, and many others.
