The Bartosz Hadala Group is a musical formation with many faces, all driven by Hadala’s original approach to melody, harmony, and groove. His tight compositions and broad arrangements allow the group members to focus on an artistic direction that delivers a clear vision for the music. For “Three Short Stories”, the Bartosz Hadala Group consists of Luis Deniz on alto saxophone, Eric St-Laurent on guitar, Brad Cheeseman on bass, and Marito Marques on drums and percussion. Guest appearances include Kelly Jefferson on soprano saxophone, Micheal Manring on bass guitar, and João Frade on accordion. This iteration of the group is another dream band for Hadala, featuring some of the finest musicians at the forefront of the Canadian jazz scene. Every track of “Three Short Stories” delivers on the promise of the assembled who’s who of talent and reinforces the strength and breadth of Hadala’s compositional chops.
