BEVERLY TAFT – VOCALS, ADREAN FARRUGIA – PIANO, NEIL SWAINSON – BASS
Although she loves the sweet melodies and hot rhythms of this music, Beverly’s main goal is to communicate the essence of the song and its story to audiences. Described as “charming,” “delightful” and “100% pure beautiful jazz” by various arts journalists, Beverly has performed throughout Toronto and Ontario as well as venues in San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Sarasota, and Japan. Her repertoire spans several decades and a few continents and languages, and includes swingy originals she’s written with Nathan Hiltz, “The Bossa Nova Project” (in Portuguese and English), “The Swell Fellas” (20s, 30s and 40s music), and “Latina Esquina.” Her newest venture is a celebration of the remarkable world of Pulitzer-prize winning composer Frank Loesser in the shows “Loesser is The Most,” “More Loesser,” and “Loesser Greats.” On September 24th, Beverly will be joined by two of her favourite collaborators, pianist Adrean Farrugia and bassist Neil Swainson.
