IRWIN HALL WITH THE EWEN FARNCOMBE TRIO

Irwin Hall is one of the most dynamic voices in the new wave of jazz and soul-influenced music sweeping the world. His new band #JUSTMUSIC captures his unmistakable sound and style that continues to bring him around the globe. Irwin’s upcoming debut EP release, Source Connect, pays tribute to his jazz roots and his global sonic explorations, from Brazilian Samba and Bossa to Nigerian Afro-Beat, and much more. His fiery tone and endlessly creative expression has brought him on tour with artists such as 3x Grammy/Tony Award winning jazz icon, Dee Dee Bridgewater, world renowned singer-songwriter Melody Gardot, and award winning trumpeter and composer Theo Croker.
Irwin will be performing with three of Canada’s finest young jazz talents – Ewen Farncombe – Piano, Ben Dwyer – Bass and Davide Corazza – Drums
Ewen Farncombe is a pianist, composer and arranger living in Toronto. He has performed along side artists such as Larnell Louis, Daniel Barnes, Richard Underhill, Kirk MacDonald, Pat Labarbera, Vito Rezza, Lorne Lofsky, and Roberto Occhipinti. He is very active in the Toronto music scene, performing a variety of music with a number of bands around the city. Some of the awards he has won include the Hnatyshyn foundation Oscar Peterson Grant for Jazz Performance, The Humber College Oscar Peterson Award, and the 2015 Downbeat Undergraduate College Jazz Soloist award.
Ben Dwyer is a bassist, saxophonist, composer and educator living in Toronto, Ontario and has lived in Montreal and Vancouver as well. Throughout his years as a musician, he has had the fortune to perform, record and study with some of the best musicians in the country, some of which include Don Thompson, Chris McCann, Ingrid and Christine Jensen, The Barr Brothers, David Gogo and Isis Giraldo. As well, he has a long running musical relationship with his father, renowned jazz musician Phil Dwyer, who he has performed with for nearly 10 years. Ben is also a founding member of six piece jazz group, Nomad, with whom he has recorded three albums and has performed extensively throughout the country.
