Jazz Giants Series: TONY BENNETT TRIBUTE: Ori Dagan & Nathan Hiltz with guest Gavin Hope

Back by popular demand: join us at Jazz Bistro for an autumn series in tribute to the jazz giants. This series will feature acclaimed jazz singer-songwriter Ori Dagan and guitarist extraordinaire Nathan Hiltz, with a different guest artist each week.
Award-winning jazz singer, songwriter and recording artist Ori Dagan is taking jazz to new and exciting places. His rich baritone voice and impressive abilities as an improviser produce an instantly recognizable sound. In live performance, he surrounds himself with Canada’s finest musicians, performing an engaging mix of material which is always fresh and in the moment. Dagan’s third recording, “Nathaniel: A Tribute to Nat King Cole” (2017 Winner: Silver Medal for “Best Album” at the Global Music Awards) is a unique “Visual Album” homage to the legendary jazz musician and pop icon: a collection of 12 music videos with guest appearances by Sheila Jordan, Jane Bunnett and Alex Pangman.
Nova Scotia born jazz guitarist Nathan Hiltz moved to Toronto in 1999. Since then he has established himself as one of the country’s finest electric and acoustic guitarists, well-versed in a variety of styles from jazz and blues to classical and world music. Sought after as both a leader and an accompanist, Nathan performs over 200 gigs a year and has toured extensively across Canada with a variety of artists. He currently teaches at The Humber College School of Creative and Performing Arts.

With his lightning speed comedic timing, skills on the dance floor and a truly exceptional, emotional voice, Gavin Hope is a natural born performer and always a fan favourite! Gavin’s diverse career includes song, stage, TV and film, and feeds his wanderlust well. This Juno-nominated solo recording artist has been lucky enough to perform all around the world sharing the stage with such greats as Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Jill Scott, James Brown, and Deborah Cox, to name a few. Gavin is also known for his work performing as a member of Canadian acappella vocal group The Nylons, with whom he has toured the world and recorded six studio albums..
