Kathleen Gorman is an innovative jazz pianist/vocalist and composer, whose soulful style of Jazz/pop is winning her new fans all the time. Kathleen is delighted to return to the Jazz Bistro with an All-Star group of jazz heavy-weights, featuring the talented multi-instrumentalist Colleen Allen on saxes and flute, whom she has recorded and performed with over the last ten years. Kathleen’s 2017 album “ I Can See Clearly Now “, received critics’ praise, international airplay, and showcased her lyrical piano skills, lush vocals, as well as beautifully reharmonized jazz arrangements of well-loved popular songs ( Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Elvis) and jazz standards in her own compelling style. Her original compositions display her classical piano foundation as well as her love for blues and traditional jazz. Her 2009 CD “Brand New Day” , a collection of all original jazz and blues songs and instrumentals, was featured on Jazz FM 91, CBC radio, as well as numerous stations in the US and Europe. She has been fortunate to perform and record with many of Canada’s finest jazz musicians. Described by jazz legend Sheila Jordan as ” a wonderful talent “, Kathleen is a multi-faceted musician with a desire to connect with the audience in an authentic and expressive way. Her performances are soulful, dynamic and not to be missed. Kathleen is a member of CARAS and SOCAN. She is also an accomplished music educator, arranger, clinician, and is a Toronto based piano coach and songwriting mentor.
