September 13 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm EDT

A special evening recreating some of the many musical flavours of Jeff Beck, one of the world’s most celebrated guitarists.

Toronto guitarist Sean Meredith-Jones. His mission is to embody the very best elements from a wide range of popular music styles — jazz, blues, pop, funk, gospel, Latin, and reggae — into his own highly original and impeccably authentic voice.

Schooled by and among the very best at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Jones has the compositional and technical mind of a world-class jazz guitarist; if there’s a dominant thread to his music, it’s the echoes of technically-brilliant jazz innovators like Pat Metheny and others who remember that jazz was North America’s original popular music. His spirit is southern blues and gospel, with the viscerally haunting power of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Junior Kimbrough. The richly atmospheric Hammond B3 lines bring to mind and ear contemporary funk/fusion artists such as Medeski Martin & Wood. And although he’s an instrumental composer, Jones is inspired by the warm, soulful vocal melodies of pop/crossover stars like Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow.
