Sharon Musgrave is a soul & jazz singer-songwriter born in the Uk and raised in Canada. She’s recorded and toured with top notch jazz musicians like Julian Joseph in the UK. She wrote a top 10 hit based on George Gershwin’s jazz standard “Fascinating Rhythm” in the 90’s. She graces the stage with Hamilton’s jazz musicians: Tom Forsyth/Guitar, Dave Field/Bass, and Peter Grimmer/Drums.

Although Sharon is mostly known for her soul repertoire she’s bringing with her a night’s dedication to the authenticity of the jazz/blues genre with her personal touch, unadulterated soul, accompanied by Fascinating Rhythms and smooth grooves.

Sharon’s career shot to prominence in the early 90’s with Bassomatic. She left Canada for the UK, where she was born, to pursue a career in music. She achieved international chart status with the hit “Fascinating Rhythm” on (Virgin Records) which Sharon performed and wrote with William Orbit. In 1992 Sharon was asked by WEA Records in the UK to work with jazz pianist Julian Joseph on his “Language of Truth” album, performing Curtis Mayfield’s, “The Other Side of Town.” The first single off the album.

After a career span of 10 years of touring all parts of the world, Singing in Commercials and constantly honing in on her writing abilities, she returned to Canada to settle and have a family. But her calling for creativity and performance brought her back on the stage, when she produced her first solo album a smooth jazz project “Selah” in Canada.

The video of her Canadian solo release “Selah” shot up to the top 20, on Canada’s Bravo Video chart count down. She performed throughout Canada after making a debut performance at the Toronto Jazz Festival at Harbourfront Center in Toronto.
