Atrin Madani – Voice Michael Shand – Piano Jordan O’Connor – Bass
Atrin Madani (born 1998 in Berlin) is a German Jazz- and Chanson-Vocalist with Persian roots. He has been studying Jazz Voice since September 2017 at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden with Prof. Céline Rudolph.
In his hometown Berlin he has already worked with musicians from the international scene (Kelvin Sholar, Richard DeRosa, Jiggs Whigham) and from the Berlin Jazz scene (Malte Schiller, Andreas Schmidt, Marc Secara). Since 2018 he has been a member of the vocal group of the German National Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO). His musical activities have led him to perform in countries such as the USA, Canada, Israel and Madagascar. In September 2017 he had the honor to perform at the garden party of Germany’s president Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Atrin Madani is delighted to return to Toronto’s Jazz Bistro for the second time this year. Inspired by vocalists such as Mark Murphy, Nat “King“ Cole, Andy Williams, Tony Bennett, he’s always seeking for the essence, which makes each and every song so unique and irreplaceable to always interpret it differently with his baritone voice and warm timbre. Expect an evening of well-known and lesser-known standards from the Great
American Songbook and Pop songs wrapped up in some fresh, new arrangements!
